GI Clear Elite™ · Precision Gut Defense Protocol™
Six standardized botanicals, dosed for a protocol — not a shelf.
Bloat after meals that used to digest without a thought. An afternoon that flattens out. Cravings that override discipline. Before you add another probiotic on top, it is worth working on the terrain underneath it. GI Clear Elite is a physician-formulated botanical complex built to support a balanced microbial environment — standardized to active compounds, dosed against the traditional-use literature, and designed to be run as a defined protocol rather than taken indefinitely.
Clinical-grade sourcing, documented.
Supplement Facts panel and batch documentation are shown in the product images above.
What it is
A six-botanical complex, 725 mg of standardized extracts per capsule, 120 capsules per bottle. Black walnut, neem, olive leaf, sweet wormwood, and clove, plus Berbevis® berberine phytosome.
What it does
Supports a balanced microbial environment in the gut, healthy digestive comfort, and the intestinal terrain that nutrient absorption and immune function depend on.
Who it is for
Adults over 40 with heavy travel, restaurant-heavy eating, or a history of antibiotic or NSAID use — who have already tried probiotics and want to work further upstream.
How to use it
Two capsules twice daily with food, 30 to 60 days. One bottle covers 30 days at that dose. Pair with a binder and take it as a defined protocol, not a daily habit.
The formulation
Six botanicals. Every one standardized.
Extract ratios and standardization percentages are the difference between a botanical formula and a botanical gesture. Here is what is in each serving, at what concentration, and why it earned the space.
| Botanical | Per capsule / per day* |
Why it is in the formula |
|---|---|---|
| Black Walnut HullJuglans nigra | 250 mg / 1,000 mg 10:1 extract |
The traditional backbone of botanical gut protocols, going back well over a century. Contains juglone, a naphthoquinone studied in laboratory settings for its effects on microbial enzyme systems. Concentrated tenfold — most consumer products use a 4:1 extract or raw hull powder. |
| Neem LeafAzadirachta indica | 125 mg / 500 mg 10:1, 20% flavonoids |
Used in Ayurvedic practice for more than 4,000 years. Contains azadirachtin and nimbin, studied for their interaction with microbial cell wall integrity. Standardized to 20% flavonoids so the bioactive content is verified rather than assumed. |
| Olive LeafOlea europaea | 100 mg / 400 mg 40% oleuropein |
Oleuropein is the polyphenol that carries most of olive leaf's activity, and it has been studied for broad microbial-balance effects and biofilm interaction. Standardized to 40% — mass-market formulas commonly run 6 to 12 percent. |
| Sweet WormwoodArtemisia annua | 100 mg / 400 mg 4:1 extract |
The plant from which artemisinin was isolated, work that received the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. In traditional botanical protocols, wormwood is the adult-stage component of the classic wormwood, black walnut, and clove trio. |
| Clove BudSyzygium aromaticum | 100 mg / 400 mg 4:1 extract |
Eugenol-rich. In traditional protocol design, clove is the third member of the classic trio and the reason those protocols are run for a defined multi-week window rather than a few days — the intent is to cover a full reproductive cycle rather than a single point in time. |
| Berbevis® Berberine Phytosome®Berberis aristata | 50 mg / 200 mg Indena phytosome |
Standard berberine is famously poorly absorbed — roughly one percent reaches circulation. Berbevis® is Indena's patented phytosome, pairing Berberis aristata root extract with pea protein isolate, sunflower lecithin, and grape seed extract. Indena's published human pharmacokinetic work reported approximately tenfold greater bioabsorption than unformulated berberine, with dose linearity — which is why 200 mg a day here is doing more work than the number suggests. |
*Serving size 1 vegetarian capsule. Per-day column reflects the standard protocol of 4 capsules daily. 120 capsules per bottle. Other ingredients: vegetarian capsule (hypromellose, purified water) and rice flour — nothing else. Full Supplement Facts panel shown in the product images.
The difference
Two ways to build a botanical gut formula.
The drugstore version
- Whole-leaf powders and 4:1 extracts, with no standardization percentage anywhere on the label
- Long ingredient lists that look impressive and dose nothing meaningfully
- Standard berberine, where roughly 99 percent never reaches circulation
- A 7 or 10-day "cleanse" that ends well before a full microbial cycle does
- No binder guidance, so users feel worse and quit in week one
- No contraindication warnings on a formula with real interaction potential
- Sold as a seasonal ritual rather than a clinical protocol
The IOH standard
- Every botanical standardized — 10:1, 20% flavonoids, 40% oleuropein, printed on the label
- Six ingredients, each at a dose chosen against the published literature
- Berbevis® phytosome berberine, formulated specifically to solve the absorption problem
- A 30 to 60-day protocol structure, because that is the window the literature supports
- A companion binder protocol with exact timing, built into the instructions
- Full contraindication and drug-interaction disclosure, stated plainly
- Built to the standard used with Wealthy Body Protocol™ clients
How it is built
Four decisions that separate a protocol from a cleanse.
Most gut formulas fail on one of four points. This one was designed around all four before a single capsule was filled.
Verified actives, not plant dust
A 10:1 extract concentrates ten parts raw material into one. A 40% oleuropein standardization guarantees what is actually in the capsule. Without those numbers on a label, you are buying agricultural variability and hoping.
Solving berberine's real problem
Berberine's limitation was never its activity — it was that almost none of it gets absorbed. The Berbevis® phytosome addresses that directly, and the grape seed extract in the matrix is there to ease the GI irritation plain berberine is known for. Four capsules a day puts you at 200 mg of the phytosome.
Built for weeks, not for a weekend
Microbial populations turn over on their own timeline. Short cleanses tend to produce a good first fortnight and a return to baseline. The protocol here runs 30 to 60 days for that reason, with a cycled advanced option.
The half everyone skips
Shifting the microbial terrain releases metabolic byproducts into the gut. If they are not bound and escorted out, they get reabsorbed — which is why people feel worse before better. A binder is not optional here. It is half the protocol.
Protocol and dosage
Three ways to run it.
Take with a full glass of water, alongside a meal containing some fat — the Berbevis® phytosome is lipid-compatible and uptake improves in the presence of dietary fat.
Standard
Most users
2 capsules twice daily, 20 to 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner, for 30 to 60 days.
That is 4 capsules a day, so one bottle covers 30 days. A full 60-day run takes two.
Advanced
Higher burden
3 capsules twice daily for 60 to 90 days, cycled 4 weeks on, 1 week off.
The cycling is deliberate. It gives the system a reset week and keeps the protocol running across a longer window rather than in a single hard push.
Maintenance
Post-protocol
1 capsule twice daily, two weeks per quarter.
Worth considering if you travel internationally often, eat out constantly, or know you have had exposure. Not intended for continuous year-round use.
Companion protocol
Why the binder is not an upsell.
This is the part most consumer cleanses leave out, and it is the reason people abandon them in week one. When the microbial terrain shifts, byproducts are released into the gut lumen. Bind them and they leave. Leave them unbound and a portion is reabsorbed across the intestinal wall and recirculated — which shows up as headaches, brain fog, fatigue, aching joints, skin flares, and digestion that gets worse before it gets better.
That pattern is not the protocol failing. It is the protocol moving faster than your elimination pathways can keep up with. The fix is a binder and better timing, not quitting.
IOH Detox Binder™
Modified citrus pectin specified to 8.1 kilodaltons, shilajit standardized to over 50% fulvic acid, clinoptilolite zeolite, activated charcoal, silica, and Albion® molybdenum. Six components across several distinct binding mechanisms, chosen so that different classes of byproduct have something to attach to — plus the enzymatic cofactor that binding alone does not address.
Timing is the whole game
1 to 2 capsules twice daily, taken at least 90 minutes away from GI Clear Elite, meals, medications, and other supplements. Binders are non-selective — they bind whatever is in the gut at the time of contact. Poor timing will pull your botanicals and your nutrients out along with everything else.
Two non-negotiables while you are on this. Hydration: aim for half your body weight in ounces of filtered water daily. And a daily bowel movement — the binder pulls debris out of circulation, but it still has to leave the body. If things slow down, magnesium glycinate or citrate at bedtime usually handles it.
Read the label
What to look for in any botanical gut formula.
Apply this to us, and apply it to whatever else you are considering. The questions matter more than the brand.
| Checkpoint | GI Clear Elite™ | Typical off-the-shelf cleanse |
|---|---|---|
| Extract concentration | 10:1 on black walnut and neem, stated on the label | 4:1 or raw powder, often unstated |
| Standardization | 20% flavonoids on neem, 40% oleuropein on olive leaf | No standardization percentage given |
| Berberine form | Berbevis® phytosome from Indena, built for absorption | Standard berberine HCl, or none at all |
| Ingredient count | Six, each at a deliberate dose | Fifteen to twenty, most present in trace amounts |
| Protocol length | 30 to 60 days, with a cycled advanced option | 7 to 14 days, then nothing |
| Binder guidance | Included, with exact timing windows | Absent, or a vague mention |
| Capsule composition | Hypromellose capsule, rice flour, nothing else. No stearates, silica, or titanium dioxide | Gelatin capsules with stearates, silica, and flow agents |
| Safety disclosure | Full contraindication and drug-interaction list | A single generic line, if that |

Proof, not promises
What we will stand behind.
There is a great deal we could claim about a formula like this. Here is only what holds up on the label, in the certificate of analysis, and in the published literature.
- Six botanicals, each standardized to its active compounds and printed with its amount
- Berbevis® from Indena — a patented, branded ingredient with published human pharmacokinetic data
- cGMP-certified, FDA-registered US manufacturing
- Third-party tested for purity, potency, and heavy metals
- Vegetarian capsules, free of gelatin, magnesium stearate, and titanium dioxide
- Contraindications disclosed in full rather than buried
Honest expectations
What people tend to report.
These are observations from clinical practice and customer feedback across a full 60-day run with adequate binder support. They are not guaranteed outcomes, and response varies with adherence, starting point, and everything else going on in your life.
- Less bloating, gas, and post-meal heaviness, typically around weeks two to three
- Steadier energy through the afternoon
- Fewer cravings, particularly for sugar and refined carbohydrates
- More consistent sleep and easier morning waking
- Clearer skin and a general drop in inflammatory feel
- A gut environment that finally responds to probiotics and prebiotics
And a caveat worth more than any of the above: persistent digestive symptoms deserve an actual workup. If something has been going on for months, get tested rather than guessing. A botanical protocol is a reasonable tool inside a plan — it is not a substitute for finding out what is actually happening.
Before you start
Read this section in full.
This is a potent botanical formula, and potent means it has real contraindications. We would rather lose the sale than have you take it when you should not.
- Do not use if pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive. Sweet wormwood, black walnut, and berberine are all contraindicated in pregnancy.
- Do not use if you have a tree nut allergy. This formula contains black walnut (Juglans nigra).
- Talk to your physician first if you take prescription medication — particularly anticoagulants such as warfarin, antidiabetic medications, cyclosporine, or anything metabolized through CYP3A4. Berberine has well-documented drug-interaction potential.
- The Berbevis® matrix contains pea protein isolate, sunflower lecithin, and grape seed extract. Relevant if you have a legume sensitivity.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose. If you feel significantly worse, cut the dose in half, increase binder and water intake, and build back up gradually.
- Not for anyone under 18.
From the formulator
You cannot out-supplement or out-train a gut that is working against you. I have watched patients spend years and real money on protocols that did not take — not because the protocols were wrong, but because the terrain underneath them could not absorb or respond to anything.
So I built this the way I build a clinical protocol. Six botanicals rather than twenty. Every one standardized, so what is on the label is what is in the capsule. A defined 30 to 60-day structure rather than an open-ended habit. A binder protocol with real timing, because clearing without eliminating is how people end up feeling terrible and quitting. And a safety section that says plainly who should not take this.
It is the same standard I apply with Wealthy Body Protocol™ clients, who are paying for precision rather than platitudes. Run it properly, or do not run it.

Questions, answered
Before your first capsule.
How many bottles do I need?
On the standard protocol you take 4 capsules a day, so a 120-capsule bottle covers 30 days. A full 60-day run needs two bottles. The advanced protocol runs 6 capsules a day, which is 20 days per bottle. Worth planning up front — stopping halfway through because you ran out is the most common way these protocols underdeliver.
Do I really need the binder, or is that just an add-on?
You need it. Shifting the gut environment releases byproducts, and if they are not bound they get reabsorbed rather than eliminated. That is what produces the headaches, fatigue, and general feeling of going backwards in the first week — the thing that makes most people quit. The binder is genuinely half of this protocol, and the 90-minute spacing matters as much as the binder itself.
What if I feel worse in the first week?
Cut the dose in half, push water and binder intake up, make sure your bowels are moving daily, and rebuild gradually. Feeling somewhat off early is common when the protocol is moving faster than your elimination pathways. That said, feeling significantly unwell is a reason to stop and talk to your physician — not a badge to push through.
Can I take it with my other supplements?
GI Clear Elite, yes. The binder, no — that needs 90 minutes of clearance from everything, including your other supplements, medications, and food. Binders do not discriminate between what you want removed and what you paid for.
Should I be on a probiotic at the same time?
Most people get more out of running this first and adding probiotics afterward. Part of the reasoning behind the whole protocol is that a probiotic performs differently depending on the environment it lands in. If you are already on one you like, keep it — just take it away from the binder window.
Can I run it continuously?
No, and it is not designed for that. This is a defined 30 to 60-day protocol, with an optional maintenance dose of two weeks per quarter. Botanicals at this concentration are tools for a specific window, not a permanent daily addition.
How is this different from a drugstore cleanse?
Concentration and structure. Standardized extracts at stated percentages rather than raw powder, six deliberate ingredients rather than a long trace-dose list, a phytosome berberine built to actually absorb, a protocol length that matches the biology, and binder timing written into the instructions. Also a safety section that tells you plainly who should not take it.
Do I need testing first?
If your symptoms have been going on for months, yes — get a proper workup rather than guessing. Comprehensive stool testing tells you what you are actually dealing with, and it changes what the right protocol looks like. This formula is a good tool inside a plan. It is a poor substitute for knowing.
Reset · Refocus · Reignite
Clear the terrain before you build on it.
Everything downstream — nutrient absorption, energy, immune function, how your body responds to every other thing you take — depends on the environment you are asking it to work in. Start there. Finish strong.
