Phase I — Hydroxylation
In the liver, estrogen is hydroxylated into several metabolite families. The proportions among them are influenced by diet, body composition, and cruciferous intake.
Phase II — Conjugation
Those metabolites are then tagged for removal through methylation, sulfation, and glucuronidation. This is glutathione-dependent enzymatic work.
Bile and Gut Transit
Conjugated metabolites move into bile and down into the intestine. From here, they are either bound and carried out, or they are acted on by gut bacterial enzymes.
Exit, Not Reabsorption
Bacterial beta-glucuronidase can cleave the glucuronide tag and free the metabolite for reabsorption. Calcium D-glucarate is the ingredient in this formula aimed squarely at that step.
This is a description of a well-characterized metabolic pathway and where each ingredient has been studied to act. It is not a claim that DIM+ moves any specific lab value in any specific person. Individual estrogen metabolism is influenced by body fat, alcohol intake, fiber, sleep, medications, and genetics, and no capsule overrides those inputs.

The anchor ingredient · Cruciferous-derived
DIM is what your body forms from indole-3-carbinol after you eat broccoli, cabbage, kale, or Brussels sprouts. It is the compound that has been studied for its influence on how the liver hydroxylates estrogen in phase I, and on the resulting balance among estrogen metabolite families.
This is the ingredient the product is named for, and it is dosed in the range used in published human work on estrogen metabolite ratios. That is deliberate. We did not want the headline ingredient to be the one hiding at a fairy-dust amount while the label leans on it.
DIM's absorption varies widely depending on formulation. Crystalline DIM absorbs poorly on its own; bioavailability-enhanced forms behave differently. We are confirming which form this batch uses and will state it here rather than imply a delivery advantage we have not verified.
Supplies 40 mg elemental calcium · 3% Daily Value
Glucuronidation is one of the liver's main exit tags. The liver attaches glucuronic acid to a compound, which makes it water-soluble and ready to leave through bile. The catch is that bacterial beta-glucuronidase in the gut can cut that tag off, which frees the compound for reabsorption back into circulation.
Calcium D-glucarate converts in the gut to D-glucaro-1,4-lactone, which is the form studied for its inhibition of that bacterial enzyme. This is the ingredient that addresses the recycling step, and it is the reason this formula is not just a DIM capsule.
400 mg sits below the amounts most commonly used in the human and animal glucuronidation literature, which have generally run in the range of 500 mg taken multiple times daily. We are telling you that rather than letting the 400 mg number stand next to research it does not match. See the dose ledger below.
Standardized to 20% SDG · Yields approximately 20 mg secoisolariciresinol diglucoside
Flax lignans are converted by gut bacteria into enterolignans, which are structurally similar to endogenous estrogens and interact with the same receptors weakly. That weak interaction, plus their behavior in the gut, is why lignans show up in the estrogen metabolism literature and in cardiovascular and prostate health research.
In this formula, the lignan concentrate sits at the gut transit stop on the exit route, alongside calcium D-glucarate.
At 20% SDG, 100 mg of concentrate yields roughly 20 mg of actual SDG. Human lignan studies have typically used more. This is a contributing dose within a multi-ingredient pathway formula, not a standalone lignan dose, and we are not going to present it as one.
Flavonoid · Traditionally sourced from passionflower and propolis
Chrysin is a naturally occurring flavone. In laboratory settings it has been studied for its interaction with aromatase, the enzyme that converts androgens to estrogens, and it carries antioxidant activity in cell models.
We are not going to sell you chrysin as an estrogen blocker, because the human evidence does not support that framing. Oral chrysin is extensively conjugated in the intestinal wall before it reaches circulation, and its measured oral bioavailability is very low. A controlled human study using several grams per day for three weeks found no meaningful change in testosterone or estradiol. Chrysin is present in this formula as a flavonoid with antioxidant activity. If you are buying DIM+ specifically for chrysin, buy something else.
Standardized to 5% sulforaphane · Yields approximately 2.5 mg sulforaphane
Sulforaphane is the most studied Nrf2 activator in the food supply. Nrf2 is a transcription factor that upregulates a family of phase II detoxification enzymes, including those involved in glutathione synthesis. It is the ingredient in this formula most directly tied to the conjugation stop on the exit route.
Five percent of 50 mg is 2.5 mg of sulforaphane. Clinical work on Nrf2 activation and phase II enzyme induction has generally used considerably more. This is a supportive inclusion, not a clinical sulforaphane dose, and we would rather say that on the page than let a reader assume otherwise from the ingredient name.
Seed · Standardized to 80% silymarin · Yields approximately 40 mg silymarin
Silymarin is a flavonolignan complex from milk thistle seed with a long history of use in support of normal liver function and hepatic antioxidant status. Since every step upstream of the gut on this exit route happens in the liver, liver support belongs in an estrogen metabolism formula.
Silymarin research has commonly used doses well above 40 mg per day, often several hundred milligrams divided across the day. At this amount, milk thistle is a supporting component of a pathway formula. If liver support is your primary goal, a dedicated silymarin product is the more honest tool.
Leaf · 95% polyphenols, 75% catechins · Yields approximately 37 mg catechins
Green tea catechins are among the best-characterized dietary polyphenols for antioxidant support and cellular defense. We specified the decaffeinated extract on purpose. This is a formula men take daily, often alongside coffee, a pre-workout, or both, and there was no reason to add stimulant load to a detoxification support product.
Green tea studies on metabolic outcomes typically use catechin amounts many times higher than 37 mg. Here, green tea is an antioxidant contributor to the formula matrix. We are not attaching any metabolic or fat oxidation percentage from a higher-dose study to this amount.
33% Daily Value · Natural source, not synthetic dl-alpha
Vitamin E is the primary fat-soluble antioxidant in cell membranes. We specified sunflower-derived natural vitamin E rather than the synthetic dl-alpha form, because the natural form is retained in tissue more effectively at equivalent amounts. At 5 mg, it functions here as formula-level antioxidant support and as protection for the lipid-soluble components in the capsule.

Is DIM+ a testosterone booster?
No, and we are not going to market it as one. DIM+ is an estrogen metabolism and liver detoxification support formula. It works on how hormones are metabolized and eliminated, not on stimulating production. If production support is what you are after, that is a different product and a different conversation with your physician.
My urine turned orange. Is something wrong?
No. An amber or orange tint to urine is a well-known and harmless characteristic of DIM supplementation. It is a pigment effect, it is temporary, and it resolves when you stop. It is probably the single most common question we get on this product.
Medications and safety — what should I know before starting?
This formula has real interaction potential and you should read this section rather than skip it. Talk to your physician or pharmacist before starting if any of the following apply to you.
DIM can influence CYP1A2 enzyme activity, which is relevant to medications metabolized through that route, including certain antipsychotics such as clozapine, and theophylline. Calcium D-glucarate supports glucuronidation, which is the clearance route for a number of drugs, including acetaminophen, certain statins, oral contraceptives, lamotrigine, valproate, and some opioids. Supporting that pathway can in principle lower circulating levels of drugs that depend on it.
Milk thistle has documented interaction potential through CYP2C9 and glucuronidation enzymes, which is relevant to warfarin and some diabetes medications. Green tea catechins can reduce absorption of certain beta blockers, notably nadolol. Flax lignans have weak estrogen receptor activity, which is a consideration for anyone on hormone therapy, tamoxifen, aromatase inhibitors, or with a hormone-sensitive condition.
Do not use this product if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are nursing. This product is formulated for adult men. If you have a diagnosed liver, kidney, or hormone-related condition, do not start without physician supervision.
Why is chrysin in the formula if you say the evidence is weak?
Because it is a flavonoid with antioxidant activity, and it is in the formula as built. What we will not do is put "natural estrogen blocker" on the page next to it. Oral chrysin is heavily conjugated in the intestinal wall before it reaches circulation, and a controlled human study at multi-gram daily doses over three weeks did not move testosterone or estradiol. We would rather tell you that up front than have you find it later and wonder what else we shaded.
Should I take it with food?
Yes. DIM and vitamin E are fat-soluble, and absorption improves when they are taken with a meal that contains some fat. Two capsules once daily with a meal is the simplest way to stay consistent, and consistency matters more here than timing.
Can women take DIM+?
DIM and calcium D-glucarate are both used in women's protocols clinically. That said, this particular formula was written for men, the marketing on this page speaks to men, and hormone-sensitive conditions are more common on the women's side. If you are a woman considering it, have that conversation with your physician first rather than treating this page as guidance for you.
How long should I stay on it before deciding whether it works?
We are not going to give you a promised timeline, because nobody honestly can.
